WELCOME!

The Hogar Monte Carmelo is a Carmelite boarding school located in the rural town of El Mangote, 75 kilometers outside Panama City. The school provides a secondary education for children between the ages of 11 and 17 who would not otherwise have the means to further their education due to economic or accessibility restrictions.

This website explores the design process for the expansion of the Hogar Monte Carmelo. The project involves a master plan and system of construction meant to incorporate ideas of regional design and sustainability at a local level.
